Laguna Copper Oxide, Black
Quick Overview

Laguna Copper Oxide, Black is black/gray powder used as a colorant in the preparation of slips and glazes.

It is available in 5-lb bags.

Copper (II) oxide, also known as cupric oxide, acts as a flux and produces fluid glazes.

It can be prepared as a wash and used for brushwork application to bisqueware.

Compared to copper carbonate, it contains more copper by weight and is therefore more intense.

In oxidation, it produces green, and its reduced form is red.

It has a melting point above 1200 °C.

Copper oxide is harmful if swallowed, and may cause skin and respiratory tract irritation upon contact.

Always use care and wear protective gear.
