Laguna Dry Cone 10
The following line of Laguna Dry Glazes are all formulated for Cone
10. They tend to be traditional, muted, earthy colors. Most
can be fired in oxidation, although many
are best in reduction.
In reduction, these glazes will be enhanced
by the reduction process. Impurities and trace metals in the clay
and glaze will react with carbon in the kiln atmosphere to create
spotting. Oxides react in various and sometimes spectacular
ways. Each firing creates a certain unique quality in the
ware.
Read the description carefully to
determine whether oxidation or reduction is advised. All are
lead free and non-toxic, and may be used on dinnerware when fired
properly. Read

Iron Red
This glaze is a member of the Tenmoku and Kaki family of glazes. It is a rich, red semi gloss glaze which has some mottling. The brightest color is achieved over porcelain or white stoneware in oxidation firing. Dark clay bodies or reduction firing
tend to make this glaze red-black. Iron Read does not lend itself to some oxides in decoration.

Blue Brown
