When choosing kiln, size is important. You want to consider a few different things when choosing the right size kiln. You must consider the space where you will put it, the size of the pieces you’ll be firing and the power available. For many people, the ideal size is medium electric ceramic kilns. They offer a nice size without being too big or pulling too much power.
Kiln brand options include ConeArt, Cress, Olympic, Paragon and Skutt. Olympic offers a large range of options, making it simple to find what you need. However, Paragon is pretty popular with beginners because their kilns are easy to use. ConeArt kilns are good if you want to fire at cone 5-10. Skutt kilns are very versatile, while Cress offers both ceramic and glass option.
When choosing a kiln, it helps to read all the specifications. You shouldn’t just rely on what others think. The kiln needs to be matched to your needs. Consider the size, power needs and what projects each kiln works best for.
