Laguna Iron Oxide, Red

Iron Oxide, also known as ferric oxide, is widely found in nature, and is used as inexpensive, durable pigments in glazes, paints, and even colored concretes.

It produces various shades of green or brown when used as a glaze colorant, or as a decorative oxide.

When combined with titanium in high fire matte glazes, it can produce reddish colors.

Red iron oxide is not as concentrated as black iron oxide.

In its powdered form, iron oxide can cause skin, eye and respiratory tract irritation and sensitization.
