Overhead gantry lifts the body of the kiln so you can pull your pieces out.  Lifting helps keep heat in the body so the next firing is faster.  3 sizes from 3.3 to 10 cubic feet.  You can also bisque and high fire in these kilns.

Technically any kiln can be used with Raku.  It is the post-reduction process that takes place after you take the piece out of the kiln that makes it "Raku".  If using an electric kiln, you should have a lid cutoff switch to cut power to the elements when the lid is open, avoiding potential electrocution.

Raku originated in Japan, but was "Americanized" by Paul Soldner
