including elements.Electronic models, feature 5 preset easy to use firing speeds,
plus 6 available custom programs, for an almost infinitely flexible
range of firing profiles. The Cress electronic control also
includes a short temperature soak at the end of each firing cycle to
ensure greater temperature uniformity with uneven loads. There is
also considerably more insulation between the heat and the electronics
to ensure high reliability, and a safety master switch is included to
protect against power surges when the kiln is not in use. These
kilns are wired for quick connection to the Cress Clean Air
System. Temperature zone control is built into each controller,
but they are initially connected up for one zone. This keeps maintenance
to a minimum using one thermocouple instead of 3.
Multizone temperature controls may be ordered at no additional cost at
the time the order is placed.
Cress Clean Air System Option: Exhausts kiln fumes separately from
the top, middle, and bottom of the kiln to stop cross contamination of
colors, for the brightest cleanest colors yet. Plugs right into
the bottom of the E-model kilns. The fan automatically waits until
the kiln turns on, then goes off when the firing is complete. When
cooling, the fan turns back on at 1000F automatically and off at 140F
for safe faster cooling and safe unloading.
FireMate Models This unique control system gradually increases
power to the kiln throughout the firing process. This provides the
advantages of firing as rapidly as possible without heat shocking the
ware, and of being extremely energy efficient. The FireMate even
senses and adjust for room temperature and small voltage changes coming
into you home or business to give you highly repeatable and consistent
firing results. The elements are electrically adjusted from top to
bottom to give the most uniform firing possible. Includes: Dawson
kiln sitter and limit timer, FireMate controller with reduced heat-shock
firing curve, thumbwheel power adjustment, auto/manual firing mode
switch.
HEAT REFLECTIVE STANDS
Heat loss through the bottom of the kiln has always been a
problem. Cress now has heat reflective stands available as an
option.
THICKWALL KILNS
Cress 3" kilns maintain the full inside diameter of the base
models, so standard furniture fits properly. Most manufacturers
reduce the interior diameter of the kiln when thicker brick is
used. (Cress and ConeArt are the only brands that do not reduce
the inner diameter of the kiln in the 3" brick models.)
