GlazeTech Kiln New!
This is a Cone 10 test kiln, with a 14.5" square, 9" deep chamber. It is a perfect compact studio kiln for just about anyone.
Unlike other Cone 10 Test Kilns on the market, this kiln is not too small or under-powered. Skutt chose to use 240V (or 208V) elements instead of 120V in the design.
This allows users to have a functional chamber size that will accurately follow just about any program they enter. (This thing is a Rocket!).
One of the inspirations for this new design was Robin Hopper's desire for a kiln to fire a new material he has been working with, Porcelain Canvas
Substrate. The Glaze Tech's shape is perfect for the size and shape of this new glaze painting medium.
It allowed him to stack 4 shelves high and fire it very fast (this stuff is very thin and tough so it can take the fast heat-up).
Since it has the KilnMaster LT Controller he can also write Ramp and Hold programs to slow the cooling for interesting glaze effects.

KS714 Manual and KM714 Automatic Kilns
The KS714 is the ideal kiln for beginners, china
painters and studios firing small loads. It also makes a great
test kiln. The firing chamber diameter is slightly over 14",
which allows you to fire most plates and small platters.
It
operates universally on 208 or 240v AC which is found in most
homes. A Blank Ring is available for increased cone 1 capacity.
| Note: The wall outlets for these models must be powered by 3-wire 120/240-208v solid neutral supply, as for an electric
range. This plug is called a 14-30 and the receptacle looks like this:

KS818 Manual and KM818 Automatic Kilns

This small octagonal (8-sided) kiln has long been revered as the workhorse of the small
studio. It's cone 10 capacity and expandable design have made this the
most popular of the smaller models. You can order the KS818 with a
permanent 9" Wired Ring and fire to cone 10. For really tall pieces,
add a 4 1/2" Blank Ring to fire a 30" piece to cone 1. Manual
models come with kiln sitter and limit timer. Where
energy saving is important, the series can be ordered with 3" firebrick.
