Paragon Vulcan Glass Crucible Kiln
The Vulcan heats approximately 50 pounds of glass to a molten
state. Mix custom glass colors. Make huge glass
figurines, paperweights, blown vessels, stringers, and much
more. Pull your own neon tubing. Make glass
castings.
Sidewalls are 4 ½ thick. The extra insulation and heavy
12-gauge elements are designed for the stress of very long heat
soaks. The deluxe S-Type platinum thermocouple with ceramic
protection tube far outlasts the standard K-Type.
The Vulcan has a separate bottom section with a row of 2 ½
high wall bricks, held in place with spring-twist locks. Should
a crucible crack during firing and leak glass onto the kiln
bottom, merely replace the damaged bottom section.

The Vulcan comes with a 2-thick ceramic fiber board insert
that fits into a recess at the top of the walls. Cut a hole in
the center of the fiber board to match the top of your crucible.
The fiber board holds heat inside the kiln when you open the
lid. The Vulcan is 13 ½ wide x 18 deep. The fiber board
in place reduces the firing chamber to 15 deep.
Program the digital controller for the exact consistency of
glass melt that you desire. The hinged lid floats and has a
lock-in lid support, which you can remove if you prefer to use
the lid chain. You can also use the kiln for pottery or glass
fusing. Comes with a one year warranty and heavy-duty stand.
A heavy galvanized steel base
covers the reversible brick bottom completely. It folds up under
the stainless case on all sides to strengthen the firing
chamber. This is one more assurance that your Paragon kiln is
built to last.
The optional lid safety switch turns off power to the heating
elements when the lid is raised. It mounts to the back of the
lid.
Order the C10-R (10 round x 1/2) shelf and the correct
length 1 ½ wide posts to support your crucibles. |
