F-Series

F-Series
glazes are fritted, leadless compositions. They are
semi-opaque and fire with a high gloss. Colors are more
intense and brilliant than those of many other glazes.
Because they are leadless, they are recommended for functional
ware. GREAT FOR SCHOOLS Apply to cone 04
bisque by brushing, dipping or pouring; fire to cone 05. |
Duncan
Envision
IN
|
Lead-free
cousin to Duncan's popular Gloss Glazes. They work with a
variety of decorating techniques and produce a distinctively
smooth and elegant appearance in colors ranging from opaque to
transparent. Envisions move very little during firing, so
apply them with smooth, even strokes. Most colors may be
mixed together to create custom colors with no changes in
application or performance. All are safe for use on food
containers. Transparent and opaque. |
Duncan
Gloss
GL
|
A
wealth of colors with a brilliant finish. Choose from
transparent color washes to rich opaques. High shine, true
colors, top performers. These are the leaded versions of
the Envision glazes. Gloss glazes move slightly more in
firing than Envisions, and need not be applied as
smoothly. Most are toxic (contain lead), except Diamond
Clear. |
|
Duncan
Gallery Opaque GO
|
Bold
decorator color developed for total opaque coverage on large,
smooth surfaces. Contains lead, not food safe. |
Amaco Gloss
LG |
Bright
Opaque and transparent colors characterize this popular LG Gloss
Glaze series. These glazes flow during firing to a high
gloss while correcting most application defects. Because
of their flexibility, good results can be obtained on many
clays. Some colors contain lead. |
Amaco
Majolica Gloss
GDC
|
Majolica
Gloss Decorating Colors have been developed specifically to
produce the Majolica technique. Each of these can be
applied directly over unfired Amaco Opaque White glaze (LG11.)
The special formulation means that no clear covering glaze is
necessary. Colors will fire glossy and assume the smooth
surface of the white base glaze. In addition to the
Majolica technique, these can be used for over all coverage or
to design over the bisque with no additional glaze over or under
it. All are lead free, and have tested dinnerware safe
alone and over Amaco LG11. They will also product
excellent results when used over most of the LG, F, LM and DG
series, but have not been tested for dinnerware safety. In
liquid form all are AP Non-Toxic. Semi-transparent. |
Amaco Deco Gloss
DG |
All
Deco Gloss glazes are Lead Free and totally opaque. The 24
intense colors are perfect for artists creating art deco pieces
including dinnerware, sculpture, table lamps, etc. These
glazes flow very little during firing which also makes them
suitable with Amaco Gloss colors to recreate the Majolica
technique. All are lead free, dinnerware safe, and opaque. |

Amaco Opalescent
O |
Opalescent
Glazes may be used on any clay, but they develop their greatest
opalescence and most interesting textures when applied to red
clay. Most have a high gloss with an iridescence similar
to mother-of-pearl. Best results are achieved with three
or four applications of glaze. On textured ware, the glaze
flows thin on relief and thick in incised areas, giving an added
dimension on the surface. May be used in Raku firing.
May give interesting effects at high temperatures. Opaque and dinnerware safe. |

Clear
and white matte glazes. These
glazes are all non-toxic, dinnerware safe, and overglaze
compatible. |
Amaco Matt
LM |
The
LM Matt Glaze Series is one of the most pleasing for decorative
art pottery. Because these glazes move very little in the
glaze firing, they are excellent for creative design work and
controlled glazing techniques. These glazes are all
non-toxic and dinnerware safe. Most colors are opaque. |
Amaco Stone
Texture
ST |
A
smooth, unique stone-like surface when fired over a Cone 04
bisque. The ST glaze series flows a little in the firing,
settling in the crevices and towards the bottom of a vertical
surface. Therefore, when applied over a textured surface
they will produce antique-like variations or a weathered and
worn out look on the higher relief areas of the piece. |

Artists Choice
A |
Cone
05 oxidation glazes that look like high fired reduction
stoneware. They can be fired over any earthenware clay;
however they look their best over dark or red firing clay.
The color in the clay will partially show through the texture
and add another color dimension to the glaze. These glazes
will look completely different depending on the clay they are
applied on. |

Spectrum Raised Accent Colors
RAC |
Slip
based colors (or engobes) which are available in applicator pens
with a fine metal tip for decorating on greenware or bisque.
They create embossed or raised designs on ceramic decorative
work because the colors do not flatten out when they are fired. |

Glazes. |

Duncan French
Dimensions FD |
High-pile

and over each other. Non-toxic, but not recommended
for use on food containers due to raised surface. |
| Duncan
Specialty SY, AN |
Metallic Glazes with a slight
filigree effect. Use for solid coverage or
accenting. Snow produced billowy white texture that
simulates snow, ocean foam, clouds, etc. Antique
Blue is a rich, medium blue with metallic
gold highlights. |
Duncan Crystals
& Crackles CR
|
These
special effects glazes are among the easiest to use and create
some of the most dazzling effects. Crackle glazes create random hairline cracks with interesting
patterns. They allow some clay color to show through
the glaze. They are non-toxic but not recommended for
dinnerware. The remaining glazes feature opaque gloss
colors with embedded color crystals that melt and run during the
firing process. Each firing results in unique and magical
flow patterns that give these glazes their magical appeal.
Non-toxic and dinnerware safe. |
|
Amaco Crystaltex
CTL |
Crystaltex
glazes are for the potter who dares to try something novel.
Multi-color effects can be subtle as with #32, which fires to a
creamy yellow peppered with rich brown, or they can be flashy
like the red, white and blue of #54. No two pieces will
ever be alike, but all will be unique. These liquid glazes
consist of a basic color with the addition of one or more
crystals of contrasting colors.
Crystals fan out on flat horizontal surfaces and run on vertical
pieces. Many are lead free and dinnerware safe.

Art Glazes are self-antiquing matte glazes that result in rich
varied color. No two firings will give exactly the same
results. They work well with Concepts Underglazes for
bisque. |
Amaco Alligator
LT |
With
Textured Alligator Glazes, no two pieces are ever alike due to
the many variations in texture which occur in firing.
Variegated matt textures predominate at the lower firing
temperatures and gloss textures at the higher with a mingling of
matt and gloss between the extremes. Apply to bisque or
greenware by brushing, pouring or dipping. Some are
dinnerware safe and non-toxic. |

Specialty Glazes
L, SP, AR
|
Snowfluff:
A white foaming type
texture glaze and completely matte. It can
be tinted into rich pastel shades. Can be applied over, under or between unfired glazes for
unusual texture combinations.
White Pebble:
Has a pebbly appearance as it breaks up
into a pattern resembling pearl tapioca after firing. Overdrift:
An opaque, frosty white glaze, heavy in
consistency. It is indispensable in combination glaze techniques. It renders a cascade of white
floats when applied over or under a glaze.
Lustre and Metallics:
Provide the metallic look
of hard steel and the high brilliance of lustre.
Arroya Glazes:
Textured and produce a unique
carved effect when fired. Designed for use over gloss and matte unfired
glazes, Arroya glazes are best applied with a fully loaded fan blender for
all-over coverage or with a sponge using a pouncing method. |
Amaco
Old World Crackle Glazes
CR |
Formulated to produce a network of
cracks on the fired ware similar to crazing. To emphasize the crackle
after firing, swab the fine lines with colored inks. Recommended for use
on decorative items only as it does not seal the surface of the ware as other
glazes do. They work well for raku too. |
Amaco Glaze
Crystals
AC |
One
or more colors of crystals can be added to a base glaze for
exciting results. Each piece of pottery is one-of-a-kind,
never to be duplicated. Apply the crystals by placing them
where desired on the piece while the glaze is still wet.
When fired, the crystals flow into the base glaze. |
| Spectrum

|
All

06. These crystals are very versatile and can be used successfully
from cone 06 to cone 6. They can be used with
any glaze in this firing range to produce a great variety of different
appearances. They can also be intermixed. Many beautiful

background can be used. |
