Duncan Satin White SN352           Date: 10/11/05

I love this glaze!  I use it as a base for majolica and I have not been disappointed yet. It stays right where I put it and gives me even coverage.  I have tried other commercial glazes and glazes that I have mixed myself but none have given me the majolica base I wanted.  This is not powdery like homemade majolica.  It is really easy to paint designs on top of this base white with over/under glazes.  I apply 3 coats to ^04 bisque, letting it dry between coats.  I then paint my designs on top using mostly Duncan Concepts.  I fire to ^04 in oxidation in an electric kiln.  It doesn't seem to matter where my pieces are in the kiln.  They always come out better than I expected as long as I start with this satin white.
