Paintec Sprayer Troubleshooting Tips
Q: My Paintec sprayer was working great, but now instead of spraying,
it's shooting out a stream of glaze. What's wrong? How do I
fix it?
A: When the Paintec Sprayer (or most any sprayer) shoots a stream of
liquid instead of spray, it means the liquid is no longer being atomized
by the compressed air as it leaves the nozzle. (Note: Atomization is
the is the process of separating the liquid into fine particles, which is
just what you need for spraying liquid glaze.)
Lack of atomization happens for two reasons on the Paintec Sprayer:
- The air passages near the spraying tip are clogged, often with
glaze. This is by far the most common reason for this
problem. Or,
- At some point, the nozzle was over-tightened, the tip of the nozzle
holder became bent, and now the atomizer can not be adjusted.
To remedy reason #1, dissemble the atomizing spray assy, thoroughly
clean all the components and reassemble the sprayer. It's that
simple. To avoid this problem in the future, try to keep the sprayer
upright and not turning it on it side or upside down. Liquid glaze
will flow into the air passages clogging them.
To remedy reason #2, you'll need to replace the Nozzle Holder. We
have spare parts back on the Sprayers Page
