Kiln Shelves
We generally only sell kiln shelves when purchased with a
kiln. The reason being that they are expensive to ship and difficult
to pack for safe shipment. There are
some smaller shelves, such as those for 120v kilns, that we can more
easily ship. However larger shelves have to ship by truck, and there is a minimum
cost of about $130 to a commercial address (or $160 to a residential
address) for a truck shipment.
For many people, the shipping cost does not make sense for the cost of
the item and they choose to
find shelves they can pick up locally. However, if you need a large
quantity of shelves, or you just don't have anywhere nearby to pick them
up, can make sense to have entire furniture kits truck shipped to
you.
If that's your situation, then we do offer some pre-configured
furniture kits with fixed shipping costs. See
below for kit info and pricing.
Important
notice about ordering kiln shelves and posts:
Warranty:
Kiln shelves and posts DO NOT have any warranty
against breakage in the kiln or otherwise, even on the first
firing. Fortunately, it is a rare occurrence, but
none-the-less, there is no warranty.
Shipping damage:
If shelves/posts shipped by truck arrive broken,
you MUST note the damage on the delivery receipt. Do
not sign-off until you've inspected the shelves to your
satisfaction. If the damage is not noted on the delivery receipt,
BigCeramicStore will not be able to assist you with the loss.
(Sorry). However, you may be able to pursue a concealed damage
claim directly with the carrier (without our involvement).
If there is damage documented on the delivery receipt,
we'll resolve the issue one of two ways (at our discretion).
1) We will file a freight claim on your behalf and the damaged items
will be replaced, or 2) We will credit you for the damaged items and
not replace them.
Typically, if there is documented, catastrophic
damage to a shipment, we will submit the freight claim and replace
the items. If a single shelf is broken, then we will just
credit you for it. |
If you live near/in Northern Nevada, we do have a variety of shelves
which are not shown on our website which you can order and pick-up at our
warehouse. We can also custom order just about any
size shelf you may need. Email
