Amaco Opalescent    Amaco 023 Sapphire, 042 Moss Green
email: jkonthehill@aol.com   Date: 24/10/03
This series of glaze is beautiful! I love them on red clay, especially with any kind of relief. The Sapphire is very nice over red clay, leaving the high areas with the red showing thru, and the low areas a rich blue. The Moss Green is also a very interesting glaze with the same type of effect on relief. It has sort of a mossy rock look to it, glossy though. All of the opalescent mix well together and you get interesting results.

Have used these 2 together on WSO stoneware in 06 Raku firing. (with shredded office paper in the reduction chamber) I just love the effect. The 2 colors, although more green than blue, compliment each other beautifully with a nice crackle and light flashing.
