Amaco Alligator Glaze
Created using Textured Alligator and Matt glazes
Velvet Underglazes.
With Textured Alligator Glazes, no two
pieces are ever alike due to the many variations in texture which occur in
firing. Variegated matt textures predominate at the lower firing
temperatures and gloss textures at the higher with a mingling of matt and
gloss between the extremes. Apply to bisque or greenware by brushing,
pouring or dipping. Range is Cone 06 to 04, recommended is 06-05.
The glazes that do not have lead should fired at Cone 05. LT

#132 Jewel Brown is a dark brown and amber aventurine
type glaze with infinite depth and gold flecks appearing throughout. It
should be brushed very thoroughly to reveal the lovely gold flecks. Fire
to cone 06-05.
#22 Tahitian Blue should be fired at cone 06 because
it flows more than the rest in this series.
The following contain LEAD #24, 31, 115, 121, 122,
130, 133, 142, 144. Those plus #3 and #22 are health label. The
rest are AP non-toxic in liquid form.
Codes in ( ) mean: O=Opaque, TP=Transparent,
TL=Translucent
1= Dinnerware safe: Contains no lead or cadmium ingredients,
2= Dinnerware safe: Contains some load and/or cadmium compounds but
passes test for lead and cadmium release,
3=Contains some lead and/or cadmium compounds and does not pass test for
lead and/or cadmium release. Not recommended for surfaces which
come in contact with food or drink.
4= Contains no lead or cadmium bearing ingredients, but not recommended
for dinnerware due to the soft or crackle nature of the
glaze.
5= Contains no lead or cadmium bearing ingredients but does not pass
test for lead and cadmium release due to the soft crackle nature of the
glaze. Not recommended for surfaces which come in contact with
food or drink.
