3 Blank Die Disks: Make your own
dies
To create you own die: A carpenters coping saw is used to cut out the design and an inexpensive kit of needle files to finish the shape and rub down
with some fine emery cloth and your die is ready. If your extruded shapes are small, you may want to cut several shapes on
one die and close out those not being used with a scrap of plastic or sheet metal.

Die capability:
We are often asked about compatibility of the dies from the two clay guns listed
immediately above/below. These clay guns have slightly different diameters
(2-1/4" vs. 2"), thus
their dies have slightly different diameters. The dies ARE cross-compatible,
with these limitations: The smaller diameter Scott Creek dies may slip
down the barrel of the Large Clay Gun. Positioning the die as you load the
clay may take extra effort/patience. In our testing, the larger diameter Large Clay
Gun dies just barely fit into the Scott Creek gun. Because of
manufacturing variations, you many need to file a bit of material off the
dies for a fit. If you choose to mix your purchase of dies/guns
please keep this in mind as there will be no special consideration given
on returns/exchanges. |
